We’ve all seen wigs on male actors when there’s a flashback sequence in a movie or TV show giving us a look at what that character should have looked like in their younger years. Some of these wigs are comically bad and sometimes that is on purpose and some are more than possible. Think of Samuel L. Jackson in Captain Marvel. He was wearing a glued-on hair unit that looked pretty realistic for a temporary wig but there are masters of men hair weaves that can actually make Mr. Samuel Jackson’s wig attempt look dated. Case in point the feature picture attached to this article. It’s a masterpiece! Anyone who can make a hairpiece look so natural, deserve all the work they can get in the barber’s chair.
After looking at some of the videos and photos we are sharing here. Me, and some of my friends started wondering who might be wearing a hair unit all the time as a character on a show as well as off-screen and I have two candidates I’ve been wondering about for weeks.
Anyone who watches the Showtime TV smash ‘Power’ knows how powerful and convincing an actor Omari Hardwick is. He plays the main character known as Ghost and has a beard and hairstyle that is beyond perfect.
Now, of course, I do know that his hair is dyed perfectly black so not one grey hair shows on his head and face but you have to admit for a 45-year-old, his hair is as thick and vibrant as a 25-year-old with a full head of hair. Don’t get me wrong. I actually think that is his hair but I wouldn’t be surprised if we find out later that it was a hair weave all along.
The other character on the show is even more suspect because of his brother’s hair, Lahmard Tate has receded years ago and that actor is Larenz Tate.
His hair on the show looks suspiciously perfect as well. In fact, it looks a lot like the perfect hair weaves we see in these Youtube videos. Now, does this make it true? Of course not. Brothers can have different types of hair loss. Some men lose some or most of their hair early in life, while their brother can have a full head of hair throughout their lives.
Let us know what you think. Do you suspect a male actor on TV or in movies that might be wearing a convincing hair unit? We would love to hear your comments. Also, if you are a mobile barber or a hairstylist who knows how to weave men’s hair, list your skills with us here at Order A Barber.
